General information
Art of Investigations is a private investigation agency, registered under company number BE 1020.510.274. Art of Investigations is licensed as a private investigator in accordance with the Act of 18 May 2024 on the exercise of the profession of private investigator (Private Investigators Act), under licence number 14.2073.11, and is authorised to operate a security advisory firm by the Federal Public Service Home Affairs, pursuant to the Act of 2 October 2017 regulating private and special security.
Art of Investigations is conscious of the careful handling of your personal data. Your personal data are therefore processed and secured with due care. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the leading framework within this context.
What data we collect
We process the following personal data from you, to the extent that they are known to us (or have become known to us): name, email address, telephone number, and any content provided via the contact form. It is possible that we also process special categories of personal data from you, such as financial information or criminal‑law‑related data, in the context of an assignment within the applicable statutory powers.
Purpose of processing
Art of Investigations uses your data for the following purposes: to carry out (investigative) enquiries and security advisory assignments correctly, to provide accurate personal information to our clients and other stakeholders, and to institutions and/or companies where we are legally obliged to retain your data.
Legal basis
Processing takes place on the basis of: consent (when filling in forms), legitimate interest (communication regarding our services), and legal obligation (where applicable).
Sharing with third parties
Your data are not shared with third parties, except where required by law or where necessary for the performance of our services (e.g. web hosting, email provider).
Retention period
We retain your data no longer than is necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. The processed data are kept for the duration of the contractual relationship, the statutory limitation period, as well as for any other applicable legal or regulatory retention period. Subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions, you have the right to access your data, the right to rectification or erasure, the right to restriction of processing, the right to object to processing, and the right to data portability. Use of our website — Analytics
Our website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly and cookie-free analytics solution. Plausible collects only aggregated, non-personally identifiable data (such as anonymised page visits, referrers, browser type and country). No cookies are placed, no IP addresses are stored, and no personal data are collected. All data is processed on servers within the European Union. Data protection and security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures against destruction, loss, falsification and unauthorised access or disclosure, in line with privacy and data protection legislation. In the event of a data breach, it may be necessary for us to report the infringement of personal data to the Data Protection Authority on the one hand and to the affected person(s) on the other hand.
